Jewelry Making
A long time ago, I made jewelry for fun, which I sold to friends, acquaintances and strangers alike. You don't even need proper jewelry making supplies to make jewelry. With and old beaded necklace (or even bead curtains) and odd items like dental floss or paperclips, you can make necklace, bracelets and earrings if you let your imagination loose. I even used the tweezers from a dissection kit from my biology classes back when I had hopes of studying medicine one day. Fear of the sight of blood got me dropping out of the medicine stream, but I kept the dissection kit anyway, as a memento of those earlier days. That kit came in handy for making jewelry, though a good pair of fine pliers and a wire cutter from a hardware shop would do a better job. Make Floss Bracelet FriendshipDo you want to find out how to make jewelry with dental floss and beads?Dental floss has more uses than just cleaning your teeth. You can use it to make jewelry too. Just don't use used dental floss for your jewelry. Let's start with a simple bracelet you can give away as a friendship gift. Thread a needle with dental floss and slip it through enough beads to go around your wrist. Tie the ends of the threaded floss to a bracelet clasp and you've got a bracelet. For earrings, tie a knot at the end of the dental floss and thread the beads for your earring with the floss. Make sure the knot is big enough to stop the beads from falling off. Alternatively, you can put a drop of glue at the bottom of the last bead to make sure the beads stay put. Thread the floss through the eye of the earring hook and tie a knot and you have an earring. Make another just like it for a matching pair. How Make Stretch BraceletGet a length of elastic and thread beads with it. When the string of beads is long enough to circle your wrist, tie the ends of the elastic together to form a circle. Slide the ends of the elastic back through the beads to hide them. You'll have your stretch bracelet.A word of warning. If you are new to this and are using odds and ends, the end product would probably be less than satisfactory. You'd probably end up with calloused hands as well. A way around it is to cheat.
