When I started making jewelry, I worked a lot with rhinestones.

Actually, with a collection of rhinestones, you can make unique pieces with minimal work. There is no need to stick solely with jewelry.

Just the other day, I saw a woman wearing a stunning pair of sandals. A giant rhinestone on the V of a basic pair of thongs made it look as if she were barefoot and wore nothing but that giant gem. The effect was outstanding.

That can easily be done by taking a plain pair of thongs, with very narrow straps. You can get those cheap. Hey, you can even get basics like these really cheap at a flea market. Stick on a pair of rhinestones and you have stunning sandals that would dress up any swim suit, jeans or even a gown.

Got a plain black hairclips or a plain hairclip that matches your hair color? Something that would just blend in with your hair? Stick on a rhinestone with superglue and you have a barette fit for a formal do, which would go beautifully with your evening gown. For more dazzle stick on more rhinestones.

Got a pair of plain flat button earrings? Stick rhinestones in the center of each button and you have a pair of glamorous face framers.

Even if you can't make jewelry from scratch, you can still modify old pieces, or cheap flea market items and make them stunning if you have some rhinestones and superglue.
